Experience the power of a simple gift! In November, Coffee Creek volunteers pack shoe boxes full of goodies for Operation Christmas Child that will be sent to children in other countries.

These shoe boxes are often the only gifts that these children receive. Through these gift boxes, you can share the love of Jesus Christ with a child!

Adopt-a-Street Pickup - October 8, 2011

The Adopt-a-Street program is administered by Edmond Public Works and Edmond Beautiful for an ongoing year-around litter pickup from the section line roads and thoroughfares.

Coffee Creek Volunteers devote their time and effort as “litter patrols” along the roadsides to help keep Edmond clean.

Our little piece of heaven is on Covell Rd. between Penn & Western!

Every year public school teachers spend money out of their own pockets to support the needs of their classroom.

According to a study done in 2010 by the National School Supply and Equipment Association, public school teachers in the United States spent more than $1.33 billion out of pocket on school supplies and instructional materials.

This year we’re doing a servant evangelism project that lets them know we support them as they support our community in teaching children!

We will be providing bags of supplies containing some of the most requested items. Each bag will contain:

1. Lysol spray
2. Clorox wipes
3. Baby wipes
4. Sharpie markers
5. Post-it notes

These are used in every elementary classroom and represent some of the highest requested but under-funded items. You can bring supplies by Coffee Creek on Sundays July 31 & August 7th.

The goal is to provide 30 classrooms @ Grove Valley Elementary with these starter supplies. You can bring supplies or make a donation online here -http://www.coffeecreek.cc/give

Our packing party to put supplies in bags will be August 9th @ 7:00 PM with distribution on Wednesday, August 10th @ the Teacher Appreciation Breakfast.

It’s Fall and our Second Saturday Mission projects are back! We take one Saturday a month to serve our community and our region.

As a volunteer with Coffee Creek’s team at the Regional Food Bank, you will be fighting to reach a common social goal – the end of hunger. Your time and commitment are the greatest gifts you can give and one of the most beneficial to the Food Bank.

Over the past year, Oklahoma volunteers have generously contributed more than 40,000 hours enabling the food bank to distribute more than 24 million pounds of food.

Volunteers needed for WorldFest and Journey Around the World 2010

WorldFest 2010 is Oklahoma’s most unique international shopping and raises much needed funds in support of World Neighbors programs across Latin America, Asia and Africa. Held October 22, 2010 at the Gaillardia Golf & Country Club in Oklahoma City, this event wouldn’t be possible without the support of hundreds of volunteers. And it’s fun!

All volunteers receive free admission to shop at the event and a coupon for 20% off your purchases.

Help the HOPE Center get ready for the Back to School rush as they prepare school supply bundles for hundreds of Edmond’s needy kids. You can be a part of this mission of mercy - all ages welcome to participate!

Dress in casual clothing. T-shirts, shorts or jeans, and tennis shoes. NO FLIP FLOPS or open toe shoes. We will be packing “prebags”, filling about 10 boy & 10 girl backpacks for each grade with the requested school supplies.

We will be focusing on 3-4 elementary schools as well as middle school and high schools.

Our mission is to prepare about 120+ bags ready to go for the first week or so of the program. The prebags are vital to the success in the first few weeks of the new school year!

Offer HOPE to a family that needs to be refreshed by the grace of God - we’ll meet for the mission @ 9:00 am and go to lunch afterwards!

What are family boxes?

Across the state, food bank partner programs, including food pantries, soup kitchens, and emergency shelters, have seen a dramatic increase in the number of households requesting assistance as more and more Oklahomans struggle to make ends meet.

Sadly, the need is even greater during the summer months – utility bills soar and children are out of school and without access to the school breakfast and lunch programs.

The Regional Food Bank has received a grant to purchase additional food and household products to meet the
increased demand. Emergency Family Boxes, containing food and household products, are designed to provide
short-term relief for low-income families.

A typical food box may contain:

canned tuna
canned chicken
peanut butter
pinto beans
pasta
cereal
apple juice
canned fruit
shelf stable milk
green beans
canned corn
oatmeal
rice
Tuna Helper
spaghetti sauce
crackers

A typical household product box may contain:

bath tissue
paper towels
hand sanitizer
toothpaste and toothbrushes
deodorant
shampoo
dishwashing liquid
laundry detergent
liquid hand soap

How much additional food and household product is it?

The Regional Food Bank will distribute an additional 3.8 million pounds of food (136,837 boxes) and 697,867 pounds of household products (68,418 boxes) in upcoming summer months.

Why does the Food Bank need help?

We can’t do it alone! An additional 51 pallets – or 2,440 boxes a day must be assembled by Food Bank volunteers six days a week. And, that’s over and above our normal volunteer work!

Individual Volunteer

No appointment neccessary for individuals to volunteer Monday - Saturday from 9 a.m.- noon
and 1-4 p.m.

Group Volunteers

Water. It is at the heart of a daily crisis faced by a billion of the world’s most vulnerable people—a crisis that threatens life and destroys livelihoods on a devastating scale.

Unlike war and terrorism, the global water crisis does not make media headlines, despite the fact that it claims more lives through disease than any war claims through guns. Unlike natural disasters, it does not rally concerted international action, despite the fact that more people die each year from drinking dirty water than from the world’s hurricanes, floods, tsunamis, and earthquakes combined.

This is a silent crisis experienced by the poor, and tolerated by those with the resources, technology, and the political power to end it. Yet this is a crisis that is holding back human progress, consigning large segments of humanity to lives of poverty, vulnerability, and insecurity.

Coffee Creek has developed a partnership with Living Water International, to meet the needs of our brothers and sisters there. We have learned that their biggest need is simply clean water.

Living Water International, meets this most basic of needs by helping deprived communities acquire safe, clean water. The goal is to substantially ease the global water crisis while addressing root causes such as injustice, oppression, and abject poverty. As this happens, communities and worldviews are transformed—both among those in desperate physical need, and among those who have been blessed with much.
